Points for attention in hydrostatic test of plastic water supply pipes in high rise buildings

The problem of water supply and drainage pipeline is a big problem after the design of water supply and drainage. Water supply and drainage pipe in the water pipe installation, the emergence of drip, seepage, leakage has become a common problem of construction and installation enterprises. In order to prolong the service life of water supply and drainage pipes, it is necessary to do a water pressure test on plastic water supply pipes. On the water pressure test work, the following points for attention please keep in mind.

The precautions of hydrostatic test can be divided into five parts.

(1) The test pressure value refers to the pressure at the lowest point at the end of the pipe. However, if the pressure at the highest point of pressure exceeds 1.0MPa, the pipeline shall be tested in sections.

(2) For the pipes with bonding, the hydrostatic test must be carried out 24 hours after the bonding and installation, so as to prevent the interface from detaching due to insufficient curing time.

(3) Slowly inject water into the pressure test pipe section, discharge the air in the pipe, and gradually block the water distribution points.

(4) For flexible pipes such as PE-X pipe, if the pressure is too fast and too high, micro expansion will occur, resulting in errors in hydrostatic test. In order to eliminate the interference of pipeline expansion on the pressure test results, the manual pressure pump should be used to increase the pressure slowly, the pressure rising time should not be less than 10 minutes, and the pressure should be stabilized for 1 hour.

(5) After the pressure is stabilized for one hour and there is no leakage, the pressure shall be added to the specified pressure value, and the pressure drop within 15 minutes shall not exceed 0.05 MPa.
